Tapping - How It Heals Your Mind & Body

Tapping, or EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), is a process of tapping on meridian points to help release stuck emotions in the body. Tapping combines ancient Chinese acupressure with modern psychology and can help to relieve people of an endless list of issues from physical pain to weight problems.

Start by doing the “karate chop,” tapping four fingertips on the outer edge of the opposite hand, with a “set up” statement. The set up statement might go something like, “Even though I don’t like to be in this fat body, I love and accept myself fully and completely.” Then start to tap on the other eight meridian points with your fingertips:

  • eyebrow

  • side of the eye

  • under the eye

  • under the nose

  • chin

  • collarbone

  • under the arm

  • top of the head

While applying 5-7 taps per point, talk through the negative emotions that come up when you think of your original statement. You continue to tap until you can get to an internal feeling of release.

This work is very powerful and has the ability to help heal years of stuck emotions that you might not even be aware are holding you back.

Some very well-known people in the wellness industry swear by this work, such as Jack Canfield, Dr. Oz, Dr. Mark Hyman, Dr. Christiane Northrup and the late Wayne Dyer and Louise Hay.

I highly recommend this process be added to any self-care or mindfulness regimen.
